Recently, Chen Zhongwei’s team from the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, announced the successful development of an ultra-low-temperature, high-specific-energy lithium battery. In February of this year, the team conducted a field test in Mohe City, Heilongjiang Province, successfully demonstrating the performance of their newly developed ultra-low-temperature, high-specific-energy lithium battery by powering a six-rotor drone in an environment as low as -36°C. This cutting-edge battery technology is expected to provide robust power support for critical applications such as polar scientific expeditions, border patrols, disaster relief operations, and logistics transportation.

Precautions for Bringing Drone Batteries Onboard an Aircraft
Batteries must be individually insulated to prevent short circuits; damaged or swollen batteries are strictly prohibited from being carried. Additionally, new regulations effective in 2025 require packaging to pass a 3-meter stacking test, ensuring safe transportation.
